Office Administrator/ Coordinator, Office Assistant, Admin Assistant, Front Desk/Receptionist
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for Wichita Habitat for Humanity. This role is essential to creating a welcoming experience for visitors, donors, volunteers, homeowners, and community partners while supporting daily administrative and office operations.
The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, detail-oriented, and committed to supporting a mission-driven nonprofit organization focused on affordable housing and community impact.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the front desk receptionist and primary point of contact for all visitors and callers
- Greet visitors, donors, vendors, and volunteers in a professional and welcoming manner
- Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls using a multi-line phone system
- Provide general information about Habitat for Humanity programs and services
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and deliveries; prepare outgoing mail and packages
- Accept payments and donations, issue receipts, and maintain daily cash logs
- Perform administrative and clerical support tasks including filing, scanning, copying, data entry, and mailings
- Coordinate office maintenance, repairs, and vendor communications
- Maintain office equipment and phone systems; schedule service and train staff on usage
- Order and restock office supplies and maintain organized common areas
- Maintain a clean, professional reception area and shared office spaces
- Schedule GIV Warehouse appointments
- Assist with special projects and events as assigned
- Work collaboratively with office volunteers
- Provide on-site support during organization events as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong customer service and front desk experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of office equipment, email, and internet applications
- Ability to present Habitat for Humanity programs positively to the public
- Valid driver’s license if driving for company business
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
- Prior experience in a nonprofit, administrative, or office support role
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
- Office-based position with extended periods of sitting
- Occasional standing, walking, lifting (up to 20 lbs), and movement throughout the office
- Frequent use of computers, phones, and office equipment
- Occasional navigation of construction sites with uneven terrain
- Climate-controlled office environment with moderate noise levels
- Full-time, non-exempt, hourly position
- 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday
- Occasional evenings and weekends required for events
