Position: Office Assistant I - Receptionist - DISTRICT ATTORNEY at Sedgwick County Wichita, KS

Office Assistant I – Receptionist – District Attorney, Sedgwick County, Wichita, KS

Department: District Attorney

Pay: Minimum starting pay is $15.30 per hour

Work Schedule: Mon – Fri, 8 AM – 5 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a professional atmosphere in the lobby.
  • Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls appropriately.
  • Record staff out to destination and back in to our office.
  • Greet and direct visitors to proper locations.
  • Assist walk‑ins as needed.
  • Receive and sign for mail or deliveries.
  • Ensure everyone entering the secure office signs in as required.
Other
  • Scan documents as needed for assigned responsibilities.
  • Clip newspaper articles marked for retention.
  • Secure documents to be picked up from our office.
  • Maintain updated resources and reference material.
eFile Traffic Control (Criminal Cases)
  • Monitor eFile emails in a timely manner.
  • Document and distribute as needed based on established procedures and protocols.
  • Verify filing as complete or notice addressed as needed.
  • Move to appropriate folder.
Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent including or supplemented by courses in secretarial and/or business subjects. Two years of experience in varied clerical and secretarial work or any combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual Spanish.
