Position Overview
A Tradesman/Journeyman Service Plumber is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing plumbing fixtures, potable water systems, sewage drainage systems, and slab leaks on both residential and commercial plumbing systems. He/she must be able to present customers with solutions to problems and recommend products and/or services with the goal of improving the customer’s quality of life.
Primary Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair both residential and commercial plumbing fixtures and water heaters
- Troubleshoot and repair potable and sewer water systems
- Slab leak detection and repair
- Follow all safety procedures and use proper PPE
- Provide customers with options and solutions to plumbing problems along with pricing to perform required work
- Payment collection for approved repairs
- Clean up work area after work is complete
- Coordinate work with dispatch including providing information to keep jobs organized and customers informed of progress
- Maintain material stock levels in service vehicle as well as keeping vehicle clean and organized
- Perform approved repairs and complete paperwork as required on a timely basis
- Perform other duties as assigned
A Journeyman/Tradesman Service Plumber may be asked to assume responsibility on certain jobs that may require the supervision of others. Additionally, they may be required to supervise an apprentice plumber.
Skills/Qualifications- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Current Tradesman/Journeyman License required
- 2-4 years of service plumbing experience
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Proficient verbal and written English Skills
- Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems
- Adaptability:
Manage competing demands and frequent changes in a fast-paced work environment - OSHA 10 Certification preferred
- Ability to operate backhoe and/or excavators preferred
- Workweeks are 5 Days:
Monday thru Friday - 1 hour of Unpaid Time for Lunch is required
- Start Time is 8:00 AM, End Time is 5:00 PM
- Overtime will be required on an as-needed basis
- Travel and overnight stays may be required
- On call duty and after-hours calls are required
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- E-Verify System is used to verify employment eligibility - May be subject to Pre-Employment drug and alcohol tests, background investigation and/or credit check
