Job Description
Grubbs Family of Dealerships Wichita Falls is seeking a General Maintenance person. The person will maintain a fully functioning and clean facility by ensuring the grounds, buildings, and equipment are kept in a safe condition by following an established maintenance program. He or she is responsible for all maintenance procedures and coordinates repairs with preferred vendors. He or she will perform a variety of skilled duties in building trades, such as minor plumbing, painting, carpentry, light electrical work, boiler, and HVAC repair.
Additionally, building and facility remodeling/repair may be needed periodically.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED (with further technical coursework preferred) and experience in residential and/or commercial property maintenance that includes general maintenance, construction/remodeling, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. He or she must be a team player who can work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, must be physically able to perform the duties of the job (move heavy equipment/machinery, climb ladders, perform repetitive motions, walk/stand, etc.),
must have strong communication and customer service skills, and must be willing to work a flexible schedule and be on call, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine maintenance and monitors cleaning for the grounds, facility, and equipment following all safety procedures and precautions
- Coordinates with preferred vendors that conduct routine and break/fix maintenance on all aspects of the facility
- Maintains in conjunction with preferred vendors the facility systems, such as HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical, according to maintenance schedules
- Maintains and repairs walls, furniture, cabinets, windows, and doors/locks
- Stocks maintenance supplies for work areas
- Ensures that work areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored
- Completes any reports or logs
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Post-secondary training or equivalent work experience
- Two years of dealer-level or large facility experience preferred
- Must be able to pass a background check and clear a drug test
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
