ASRC Federal Gulf States Constructors is seeking a Registered Architect to support our government customer programs at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. This position is required to be on-site.
Key Role:Monitors A&E progress and work quality
Prepares drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates for design projects
Reviews Air Force Requirements & Optimization (R&O) Playbook for project initiations and development of maintenance requirements
Provides technical expertise on a variety of architectural activities including the development of furnishings and architectural features
Directs inspectors in construction management activities and resolves construction issues as they arise
Interprets construction/engineering contract drawings and specifications to ensure all construction meets initial design and specifications
Provides scope definition, specifications, studies, budgeting, and write-ups into project proposals; prepares initial government cost estimates for small projects
Performs physical activities including climbing in and around equipment and visiting outdoor worksites
Supports and collaborates with project design teams consisting of architects, engineers, and customer technical staff
Provides technical support to programmers and cost estimators
Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from a program certified by the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners (TBAE)
Must be a currently licensed/Registered Architect (RA) in good standing in at least one U.S. state or territory
Ability to obtain Texas licensure through reciprocity if required by contract
Minimum of 2 years of experience in architectural programs
Ability to identify common site architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection/detection system components and understand how they function/operate
Experience planning or performing facility maintenance, improvements, or repairs
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:Air Force or DoD experience
Experience supporting federal construction or Base Operations Support (BOS) contracts
