Overview

Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a civilian Simulator Pilot Instructor, GS‑2181‑12 to serve as a qualified, instrument‑rated, advanced military flight simulator and academic instructor for the Euro‑NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT) Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) and Pilot Instructor Training (PIT) programs.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a qualified, instrument‑rated, multi or single engine advanced military flight simulator and academic instructor.
  • Instruct students enrolled in the ENJJPT UPT program.
  • Instruct rated upgrade pilots enrolled in the ENJJPT Pilot Instructor Training (PIT) program.
Qualifications
  • Current and qualified instrument‑rated pilot.
  • Multi‑engine or single‑engine advanced military flight simulator instructor.
  • Experience as a rated military aviator (pilot) is critical.
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems, operating procedures, aerodynamics, flying fundamentals, instrumentation, ground and flight emergency procedures, and training aircraft simulator operations.
  • Proficiency in curriculum development, instructional techniques, and training resources.
  • Proficiency with simulator systems and related computer applications.
Minimum Flight Hour Requirements
  • 1,500 Total Flight Hours
  • 250 Pilot‑In‑Command Hours
  • 75 Night Flying Hours
  • 75 Instrument Hours (at least 10 hours in actual instrument conditions)
  • 500 Instructor Flight Hours (Fixed Wing)
Mandatory Documents
  • Flight Logs (military and civilian)
  • DD 214 (if applicable)
  • SF‑50 (if applicable)
Additional Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. civilian.
  • Prior experience as an instructor in a military aircraft desired.
  • Skill in demonstrating flying procedures and maneuvers in an aircraft simulator.
