Happier at Home provides companion care to help seniors stay more independent and remain in the comforts of their own home rather than need escalated levels of care. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in home care, particularly with clients requiring dementia care, memory care, or support with activities of daily living and available nights and weekends.
This role involves following care plans, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for clients.
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Follow personalized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being.
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring the safety and comfort of clients during transfers.
- Maintain a clean living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Monitor client health and report any changes to family members or healthcare professionals.
- Support clients with mobility challenges and assist them in navigating their homes safely.
- Offer emotional support and encouragement to clients facing challenges related to dementia.
- Previous experience in home care or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care and memory care support is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the needs of the client.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to implement effective care plans based on individual client needs.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently while managing time effectively.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- High School or equivalent diploma.
- Driver's License.
- Availability for all day, evening, or overnight shifts is a plus.
- Reliable transportation.
The Role
- Caregivers help the elderly (in their homes) with a variety of daily activities such as meal planning and preparation.
- Transportation, shopping and errands, light housekeeping, laundry.
- Set-up and monitoring of bathing and dressing, companionship, mental stimulation.
- Encouragement and monitoring of exercises, overnight care.
