Position: Autism Support Technician (AM Behavior Tech)

Overview

We are hiring to support individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). This is an entry‑level position for a Behavior Technician.

Location:

Whittier, CA. Sessions are completed in clinics, clients homes, or community locations within 20 miles or 30 minutes of your home.

Compensation: $22.00 — $28.00 per hour.

Schedule

Part‑time, 15‑25+ hours per week.

  • Block 1:
    Monday – Friday 9am – 3pm
  • Block 2:
    Monday – Friday 9am – 12pm
  • Block 3:
    Monday – Friday 12pm – 3pm
  • Block 4:
    Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9am – 3pm
Responsibilities

As a Behavior Technician, you will:

  • Work one‑on‑one with children and teens with autism and other developmental needs.
  • Follow a personalized therapy plan created by our clinical team.
  • Use play, routines, and activities to help clients grow.
  • Track progress by taking notes and recording behaviors.
  • Encourage independence and build everyday life skills.
  • Celebrate every win—big or small!

We provide thorough training and ongoing support from a caring, multi‑disciplinary team. Every child is unique, and we tailor therapy to each client’s needs, interests, and goals.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 months of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (paid or unpaid).
  • Ability to lift at least 10 pounds, sit, and run as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and active auto insurance.
  • Comfortable commuting 20 miles or 30 minutes to client sessions.
  • Passion for working with children, youth, and young adults with developmental disabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree.
  • ABA experience or RBT certification.
  • CPR certification for pediatrics and adults.
  • Experience managing a wide variety of maladaptive behaviors, including non‑compliance, elopement, verbal and physical aggression, and self‑injurious behaviors.
