- Monthly financial statements prepared in accordance with the Monthly Financial Statement Closing Schedule.
- Financial statements prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Controller kept informed of significant financial reporting issues.
- Integral role in recording significant exposure areas (e.g. Worker's Comp., Group Health, Payroll Liabilities); review analysis and keep supervisors informed regarding monthly bookings.
- Review detailed balance sheet analysis and operations analysis prepared by Accountants; provide review comments as appropriate.
- Well versed in general accounting principles and apply them consistently.
- Ongoing working knowledge of major changes in the health care environment.
- Active participation in continuing professional education programs.
- Good working knowledge of PC applications and use the computer appropriately.
- Ideas clearly and concisely presented in a professional manner.
- Communication styles adjusted to changing environments; demonstrate ability to sell ideas and supportive professional attitude toward department goals and objectives.
- Follow‑up with staff to insure projects completed timely.
- Responsibility for staff reporting to him/her.

- Participate in meetings, forums, or other activities focused on strategic planning, revenue and capital, expense, and personnel budgets.
- Participate in the organization's decision‑making structures and processes.

- Assist the Controller with organizing services; give input in decisions on all personnel functions; institute corrective action when necessary.
- Facilitate innovation and motivate staff to implement effectively the department's strategy, operational program and other plans.
- Assess qualifications and competency of staff and contracted staff; performance reviews completed and submitted on or before due date.
- Provide orientation to new individuals sufficient scope and duration to inform them about responsibilities and how to fulfill them.
- Collaborate with appropriate staff in development of departmental budget; consistently remain within established budget.
- Capital expenditures not to exceed budget; operating costs not to exceed 2.5% of budget; wages/salaries not to exceed 2.5% of budget; budget completed on time.
- Establish expectations and plans, set priorities and manage processes to measure, systematically assess and implement improvements and maintain achievements.
- Comply and submit required monthly summary report to Quality Improvement Director by specified deadline.
- Willingness and ability to perform additional duties and responsibilities in different areas of the department on an as‑needed basis or as determined by management.
- Follow established hospital and department policies.
- Demonstrate philosophy of team concept; no more than 2 written substantiated complaints representing a breach of policy, procedure or professional behavior since last evaluation.
