The Vacancy:

Purpose of the role: To support the Facilities and Maintenance Manager in the completion of planned and ad-hoc tasks designed to support the safe maintenance and development of the Amphenol LTD facility.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Periodic inspections on critical systems aligned with relevant regulatory and statutory compliance. Lead any remedial works and notify any failures to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager/Facilities Coordinator. Including but not limited to functioning of toilets; maintenance of waste receptacles e.g. compactor and general waste; flooring and drainage systems; WEEE waste;
    Wood waste.
  • Maintenance, testing and adjustments to installations and systems, ensure that all actions are documented via either the CMMS or task specific documentation. Including but limited to Cooling tower;
    Water checks to site; PAT;
    Emergency light testing.
  • Where appropriate building repairs to be completed. Including but not limited to Roof leaks; drain blockages; incident recoveries, general faults.
  • Assist with location of new equipment to be installed and relocation of existing equipment throughout the site. Including the loading and transport of equipment.
  • Provide support with machine breakdown as required to meet the business needs.
  • Assist with Machine Shop materials movement for production requirements schedule, as required on ad-hoc basis.
  • Ensure workshop and materials are kept in accordance to site requirements. Managing adequate spares stores.
  • Create and implement preventative and corrective actions in accordance with business priorities. In addition, look at recurring failures and implement focused improvements.
  • Maintain any documentation in line with the F&M Manager requirements to ensure visibility of compliance and servicing tasks.
  • Identifying individual training needs as appropriate.
  • Lead and coordinate activities with approved contractors to complete Facilities and Maintenance driven tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Carries out such other duties that may be reasonably requested.
Person Specification:

Qualifications n
  • Passed both Maths and English GCSE Grade 4 (or equivalent).
  • Experience
    • Must have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
    Technical
    • Broad set of technical skills that may include plumbing, carpentry etc that will repair and maintain the building integrity.
    • Must be able to use a computer so that they can record log of daily activity, converse with different suppliers and raise Purchase Orders.
    • Principles and practices of different trades. Awareness of HSE compliance requirements, desirably with experience of leading such work.
    Skills and Competencies
    • Verbal and written communication.
    Qualifications (additional)
    • MEWP or FLT qualifications.
    • Accredited qualifications regarding their skill set.
    • Formal qualifications in Legionella awareness, cryogenic gasses and/or in an electrical capacity.
