Construction Manager (Civil Operations) – Heavy Civil

Poschner Construction Ltd. is a self-performing heavy civil contractor specializing in commercial and industrial site services, bulk and detailed excavation, municipal infrastructure, and large-scale earthworks across the Lower Mainland.

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager (Civil Operations) to take ownership of project delivery and lead our Project Management team.

This senior leadership role is responsible for margin performance, PM accountability, operational systems, and execution across multiple concurrent civil construction projects.

• Oversee multiple heavy civil projects ($5M–$25M range)
• Lead and mentor Project Managers
• Review schedules, budgets, and cost-to-complete forecasts
• Drive margin performance and disciplined change management
• Act as escalation point for major project risks and client issues
• Own monthly forecasting and financial reporting
• Identify and correct margin erosion early
• Strengthen estimating-to-operations handoff
• Standardize project controls, documentation, and reporting systems

• Align field execution with financial targets
• Maintain high safety and compliance standards

• Partner directly with ownership on operational improvement and growth
• Lead development of systems that support scaling the business

• 10+ years in heavy civil construction
• Experience managing $5M–$25M civil or excavation projects
• Proven ability to lead and develop Project Managers
• Deep understanding of self-perform excavation operations
• Experience in commercial/industrial civil, municipal infrastructure, or large-scale earthworks strongly preferred
• Compensation: $125,000 – $155,000 based on experience
