Overview
Instructor, Yukon Native Teacher Education Program (YNTEP) and the Bachelor of Education After Degree (BEAD). Yukon University is seeking two dynamic educators to instruct in YNTEP and BEAD. YNTEP is a Bachelor of Education program credentialed by the University of Regina and delivered fully in the Yukon, with an emphasis on teaching in rural, Yukon First Nation communities. The main function of the instructor position is teaching with emphasis on culturally responsive teaching practices, the decolonization and Indigenization of pedagogy, and enacting Yukon First Nations educational priorities.
The Instructor will also bring current best practices in teacher education, Indigenous education, and teaching and learning in a postsecondary environment into the program.
Campus: Ayamdigut (Whitehorse) Campus
Term: One year with possibility of extension
Starting: November 14, 2025
Workload: Based on 37.5 hours bi-weekly

- Apply culturally responsive teaching practices and support decolonization and Indigenization of pedagogy.
- Enact Yukon First Nations educational priorities within classroom practice.
- Share current best practices in teacher education, Indigenous education, and teaching and learning in a postsecondary environment.
- Master’s or Doctorate in Indigenous Education, Indigenous Studies, Teacher Education, Indigenous Teacher Education or a related field.
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and cultural diversity theory and practice in the delivery of educational programming.
- Valid driver’s license.
