The Animal Cardiology Center

TACC) is a brand new, purpose-built standalone Cardiology focused specialty provider opening in Westchester. Under the leadership of board‑certified veterinary cardiologist Dr. Justin Carlson, our specialty team is at the forefront of cardiac care, combining cutting‑edge diagnostics with compassionate, personalized treatment. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Veterinary Assistant with an interest in specialty practice. We are a staff of inspired veterinary professionals, practicing 21st century medicine in a state of the art and collaborative environment. As an Assistant at TACC you will play a critical role in supporting our veterinary cardiologists and Technicians to provide the highest standard of care. Confident restraint skills and an acute attention to detail are required in this communication and history intensive environment.

What Makes This Role Unique:

This is a launch position as we open our 2nd TACC location! You will spend your first few weeks training, building rapport, and establishing a team workflow before opening a brand new specialty‑only practice. This is a once‑in‑a‑career chance to lead a founding team and you’ll gain unique experience as we expand our state‑of‑the‑art care in a new city.
Our target start date for this role is January 15th, 2025.

Education:

We believe in helping you grow. Whether you're brand new or a seasoned pro. Veterinary Assistants here are eligible to receive unlimited CE reimbursement for things like conferences, wet labs, and skill‑building courses (plus we’ll cover up to $750 per year in related travel expenses if needed). You’ll even have the chance to bring back what you learned and share it with the team.

What We Require:
  • 2+ year experience as a Veterinary Assistant in a clinical environment
  • Skilled in client communication and patient intake, including advanced history taking tailored to specialty care needs
  • Confident in handling and restraint
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology

    The ability to effectively budget time for you and for the team
  • Highly evolved interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and an ability to clearly communicate with clients as well as team members
  • The ability to adapt while maintaining a positive attitude
  • The ability to work independently, responsibly, and ethically
  • An openness to feedback, coaching, and continuous learning
Physical requirements of the job:
  • Comfortable working with all types of animals
  • Ability to lift 40lbs
  • Capable of moving patients from carrier/floor to exam table
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
