Cedar Park Med is seeking a compassionate and skilled RN or LPN to provide one-on-one nursing care for a student with complex medical needs. This position is school-based and requires a nurse who is confident in managing feeding, aspiration risk, and seizure monitoring in a supportive and structured environment.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:45 AM – 2:40 PM
Compensation: Competitive; rate based on experience and licensure (RN vs. LPN).
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct nursing support to a student during the school day.
- Administer G-tube feedings on schedule (approximately twice daily while in school).
- Perform respiratory therapy as needed prior to feedings to reduce aspiration/vomiting risks.
- Monitor for and respond to aspiration risks during and after feedings.
- Observe, monitor, and respond appropriately to seizure activity.
- Track and document care, feeding schedules, and any medical incidents throughout the day.
- Collaborate with school staff and parents to ensure continuity of care.
- Current NYS license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Prior experience with pediatric patients and/or students preferred.
- Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience with:
- G‑tube feeding and management
- Aspiration precautions and respiratory support
- Seizure monitoring and response
- Excellent communication and observation skills.
- Ability to remain calm in emergencies and provide care with patience and compassion.
