Retail & Store Manager, Operations Manager

Job Description
Professional level sales position capable of supporting advanced functions on the commercial side of the business. Responsible for profitable growth of the commercial business through customer retention and expansion. Partners with the General Manager to manage team members and directs drivers to ensure timely and accurate delivery. Requires expert knowledge of automotive systems and parts, and the ability to source from special order, FDO, second source, and other channels.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Maintain commercial customer relationships.
- Provide GAS2 selling experience to commercial customers.
- Achieve personal/store sales goals and service objectives.
- Provide day‑to‑day supervisory support for team members.
- Collaborate with the GM on coaching and developmental needs for team members.
- Dispatch drivers ensuring delivery standards are achieved.
- Maintain commercial stocking programs.
- Build and maintain a network of second‑source suppliers.
- Maintain core bank and commercial returns.
- Maintain commercial credit accounts.
- Partner with the GM to ensure proper driver coverage.
- Friendly communication.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Safety knowledge and skills.
- Operating inventory systems and store equipment.
- Parts and automotive system knowledge skills.
- Operating POS and parts lookup systems.
- ASE P2 certified or ASE ready equivalent.
- Advanced solution, project, and product quality recommendation ability.
- Advancing sales skills for commercial customers.
- Ability to multi‑task and remain organized.
Job Skills
- Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability (engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, exhaust, etc.).
- Speak and write English;
Spanish is a plus. - Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Understand and execute written, oral, or diagram instructions.
- Complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment.
- Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, divide and manage units of measure.
- Use Microsoft Office effectively (Word, Excel).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Understand commercial profitability concepts, including market opportunities and customer prioritization.
- Work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
A minimum of 3 years of automotive parts experience is preferred.
Proven sales ability with experience in fulfilling customer transactions.
Formal or informal experience leading teams, supervising daily tasks, and achieving shared goals.
EducationHigh school diploma or GED required.
Certificates & LicensesASE certification preferred, but not required.
Physical DemandsThe employee will primarily walk or stand, talk, hear, and use hands to handle items. Requires the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work EnvironmentWork is mainly indoors but may involve outdoor work under various weather conditions. Exposure to mechanical parts, high or precarious places, chemicals, electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. Noise level is typically moderate.
Compensation21.95 USD per hour – 24.15 USD per hour.
