Senior Director, Workforce Planning and Analytics

Join to apply for the Senior Director, Workforce Planning and Analytics role at VEG ER for Pets.

ABOUT VEG

In 2014, VEG was born with a mission to help people and their pets when they need it most by challenging norms and fixing the ER experience. Since then, we've expanded rapidly, with hospitals nationwide open 24/7/365, and created an ER experience that focuses on what our pets and pet parents really need. We've done the same for our people (VEGgies), finding a way to say YES so they are empowered to achieve great things, grow in unexpected ways, and find a place where they truly belong.

We're rethinking emergency care from every angle—from how we run our hospitals to how we support the people working inside them. That's where our headquarters team comes in. Whether building technology to make our hospitals more efficient, recruiting and growing incredible VEGgies, or bringing our brand to life through marketing, our VQ (VEG Headquarters) team makes it all possible—ensuring our hospitals and people have everything they need to help pets and their families.

VEG is a 2025 and 2026 certified Great Place to Work®.

THE JOB

At VEG, we find a way to say YES - to our customers, our hospitals, and to each other. The Senior Director of Workforce Planning & Analytics plays a critical role in bringing that spirit to life. This leader will shape how we deploy one of our most important assets: our people (aka our VEGgies). You will build and refine the labor models that power our hospitals, deliver the reporting and insights our leaders rely on, and drive the automation that helps our teams stay focused on helping people & their pets.

Reporting to the SVP of Operations, you'll oversee workforce planning, labor forecasting, field reporting, and scheduling automation across VEG's multi-unit footprint. You'll join a mission-driven, fast-growing organization where workforce planning is still early in its evolution, meaning you will have the unique opportunity to accelerate our progress, shape our operating systems, and build tools that make work easier for hospital leaders.

If you love solving complex operational problems, shaping strategy through data, and building scalable systems that improve daily life in the field, this role offers the ideal blend of impact, ownership, and innovation.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead and refine VEG's labor model
, driving forecasting, budgeting, staffing ratios, and continuous optimization.
  • Own scheduling automation for our hospital teams
, accelerating adoption of the auto-scheduler, partnering closely on Legion configuration, and building the roadmap for monthly doctor scheduling automation.
  • Oversee enterprise reporting for Operations
, including W /M  packages, KPI tableau reporting, and other field-facing reporting that drives clarity, alignment, and action.
  • Guide the roadmap for VEG's workforce planning systems
, including data mining, dataset integrations, and improving the accessibility and usability of labor and operational data.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing workforce planning and reporting team
, setting clear priorities, coaching analysts/managers, and building a culture of ownership and continuous learning.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Ops, HR, Finance, and hospital leaders to ensure workforce plans are understood, adopted, and continuously improved.
WHAT YOU NEED
  • 5–10 years of workforce planning, analytics, operations, or related leadership experience in a multi-unit or field-based organization.
  • Expertise in workforce analytics, including labor modeling, forecasting, budgeting, staffing ratios, labor cost models, and FTE vs headcount planning.
  • Experience with scheduling systems (Legion strongly preferred).
  • Proficiency with data tools such as Tableau, Looker, Excel/Google Sheets, SQL-adjacent querying, or similar.
WHO YOU ARE
  • Empathetic, instinctively taking a people-centric approach, whether supporting your colleagues or making an effort to understand different perspectives.
  • Have a sense of humility; acknowledging mistakes, sharing credit with others, and lifting up your team's' accomplishments.
  • Feel a strong sense of ownership over…
