Mainframe Developer

Summary

The role of the highly skilled Mainframe Developer with strong hands‑on experience in COBOL‑based environments is to support analysis and impact assessment initiatives. This role is responsible for reviewing and interpreting complex mainframe applications, identifying technical dependencies, and evaluating end‑to‑end system flows to support modernization and change efforts. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise across COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and related mainframe components, along with the ability to clearly document findings and communicate technical insights to cross‑functional stakeholders.

This is a critical role requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments.

• Analyze mainframe components (COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, Procs, and file structures) to assess functionality and required changes.
• Review and interpret existing code to determine technical impacts and dependencies.
• Investigate end‑to‑end flows within the mainframe environment to identify risks and critical areas.
• Collaborate with project teams to clarify requirements and provide technical insights.
• Provide clear and timely updates on analysis findings to delivery teams and stakeholders.

• Strong hands‑on experience with mainframe technologies: COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, Procs, and file structures.
• Proven ability to analyze and understand complex codebases.
• Ability to document analyses and communicate findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Experience working in dynamic environments with tight deadlines.
• Previous exposure to mainframe modernization initiatives.

• This role is remote, and requires being on‑site for 1st week and intermittently upon request in the local US office. To be considered for this position, candidates must reside in one of the following U.S. states: AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, , IL, IN, KS, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WI, and Washington DC.

The compensation range for this position represents our good faith estimate of the range we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, education, work location, and internal equity.

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commissions, or other incentive programs, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, etc.

Estimated Compensation Range: $50—$55 USD
