Advanced Practice Provider Educator (Onsite)
Join White Plains Hospital as an Advanced Practice Provider Educator. This exempt position focuses on educating, clinically developing, measuring and documenting competencies, and being an ongoing resource to new and existing Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners across the organization.
Position SummaryThe role is responsible for educating, clinically developing, measuring and documenting competencies, and serving as an ongoing resource to new and existing Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners throughout the organization.
Responsibilities- Understands and adheres to the WPH performance standards, policies and behaviors.
- Educates new and existing Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners on clinical matters, including medical and surgical diagnoses, common procedures, and department-specific needs.
- Develops, measures, signs off and manages all aspects of clinical competencies.
- Collaborates with the Medical Staff Office to account for appropriate Delineation of Privileges (DOP) for new and existing PAs/NPs.
- Works with appropriate Lead APPs to manage onboarding checklist for each new APP.
- Utilizes many methods for continuing education (lecture series, simulation lab, online resources, etc.).
- Provides ongoing clinical support for staff development and evolution.
- Supports new PAs/NPs in their onboarding process.
- Develops evidence-based standards of care, policies and procedures as needed for the area of responsibility.
- Participates in committees, task forces and projects as required.
- Orchestrates education around billing, coding, and compliance.
- Collaborates with medical staff, nursing, care management, administration and other colleagues with a team approach and perspective.
- Maintains familiarity with anatomy, pharmacology, pathophysiology, clinical medicine and physical diagnosis.
- Demonstrates effective collaboration across all disciplines and specialties throughout the organization.
- Demonstrates effective communication with all other disciplines in the medical arena.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
- NP/PA education experience preferred.
- Simulation experience preferred.
- If a Physician Assistant:
Current New York State Licensed Physician Assistant;
Current National Certification. - If a Nurse Practitioner:
Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse;
Current NYS certification as a Nurse Practitioner;
Current National Certification. - Minimum of 5 Years of Clinical Experience required.
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Proficiency in procedures, techniques and skills approved in their delineation of privileges.
$127,569 - $189,774 (based on Full-Time Employment)
