Controller, Finance & Banking, Financial Manager

Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee and enhance the financial operations of our firm based in White Plains, New York. This role requires a detail-oriented financial expert who can ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and strategic decision-making to support overall business success. The ideal candidate will collaborate with leadership, project teams, and external partners to maintain financial integrity and optimize processes.

+ Oversee all accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger management, and bank reconciliations.

+ Direct the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and performance reports.

+ Monitor and manage cash flow, budget development, revenue forecasting, and project-by-project financial analysis.

+ Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and all relevant regulatory requirements.

+ Partner with project teams to facilitate budget planning, cost monitoring, and billing accuracy.

+ Administer and continually improve accounting systems to enhance efficiency and data quality.

+ Serve as the primary point of contact for external financial partners, including CPAs, auditors, and banking representatives.

+ Deliver actionable financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support risk management and operational performance.

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

+ At least 7 years of financial management experience within architecture, engineering, construction, or other detail-oriented service industries.

+ Demonstrated expertise in project-based accounting and billing methodologies.

+ Proficient with accounting software, with a strong emphasis on Quick Books.

+ Advanced proficiency in Excel and robust financial analysis skills.

+ Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership capabilities.
