Accounting Manager

Our premier, well‑known client, is looking for an Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the organization's core accounting functions and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting across multiple operating locations. This role provides hands‑on leadership in a close‑knit finance environment and plays a key role in monthly close, compliance, and financial planning activities. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting knowledge, people leadership experience, and the ability to operate effectively in a growing, multi‑entity organization.

• Provides day‑to‑day leadership and oversight for a small accounting team supporting financial reporting, receivables, payables, payroll, and budgeting activities
• Oversees onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development for team members
• Establishes clear expectations, workflows, and performance standards within the department

• Leads and manages the month‑end close process for multiple business locations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Develops, documents, and maintains accounting policies, procedures, and internal control standards
• Oversees preparation of financial statements, management reports, forecasts, and the annual budgeting process
• Ensures financial reporting aligns with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Manages tax‑related activities throughout the year, including coordination and filing of annual corporate tax returns
• Serves as the primary point of contact for external auditors; prepares schedules and supports annual audit activities
• Reviews general ledger activity and performs account analyses to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Provides financial insights and recommendations to leadership related to investments, pricing strategies, and contractual matters
• Supports management with both short‑term financial analysis and long‑range financial planning initiatives
• Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned

• Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage, mentor, and develop accounting professionals
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across the organization
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting systems; experience with cloud‑based accounting platforms preferred
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and tax compliance

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
