Junior Accountant
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our corporate headquarters team based in White Plains, NY. In this role, you will be an integral part of our Client's accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records for their Corporate office and its domestic subsidiaries.
Role: Junior Accountant
Compensation: $25-30/hr
Work Modality: 100% in-office
Key Responsibilities:
- Post and reconcile bank transactions on a regular basis.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement variance analysis.
- Maintain and update journal entries, accruals, and prepaid expense schedules as needed.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and corporate procedures.
- Prepare audit schedules and provide support during the annual external audit.
- Prepare and file sales and other tax returns accurately and on time.
- Support special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as assigned.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 1–2 years of corporate accounting experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a high level of dedication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Solid understanding of accrual accounting, fixed asset accounting, and tax filing requirements.
