WVUHS Medical Group seeks a Primary Care APP for an outpatient clinic and Nursing Home Care. The successful candidate will practice at Wheeling East Cove Family Medicine in Wheeling, WV.

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with a Master’s Degree in Nursing OR graduate of an accredited physician assistant program.
• West Virginia certification and/or license as required.
• Basic Life Support Certification required; additional Advanced Life Support (ALS)/Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training at the discretion of the department.

• Administers or orders diagnostic tests such as X‑ray and point‑of‑care lab tests.
• Examines patients to obtain information about their physical condition.
• Instructs and counsels patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
• Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
• Makes diagnosis and decisions about management and treatment of patients.
• Obtains, compiles and records patient medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examination using the Meditech EMR.
• Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care and infection management.
• Prescribes therapy or medication electronically when available.
• Educates, instructs and coordinates activities with the medical assistant(s) as needed during the care and treatment of patients.
• Provides emergency support following established policies and procedures.
• Communicates with staff, medical staff and administration in support of operations.

• Work requires strength and/or stamina, lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying of materials and equipment.

• Be cognizant of environmental factors and infection control issues, and maintain a safe environment.
