About the RoleAs an Advanced Practice Professional in Urgent Care at Indian Creek, you will provide high‑quality, patient‑centered care in fast‑paced urgent care settings, supporting clinics, community sites, and regional or academic medical centers across WVUHS. The role involves patient evaluation, diagnosis, management, and coordination with other healthcare providers.
Minimum Qualifications- Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
- National Certification by an APRN Certification Center.
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse and APRN in West Virginia.
- Basic Life Support Certification. Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training required at the discretion of the department.
- Acute care, surgical, critical care, or trauma experience.
- Administers or orders diagnostic tests (e.g., x‑ray, point‑of‑care lab).
- Examines patients to obtain information about physical condition.
- Instructs and counsels patients regarding therapy, health maintenance, emotional problems.
- Interprets diagnostic tests for deviations from normal.
- Diagnoses and decides on management and treatment.
- Records patient information using Meditech EMR.
- Performs therapeutic procedures: injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care.
- Prescribes therapy or medication electronically.
- Educates, instructs, coordinates care with medical assistants as needed.
- Provides emergency support following established policies.
- Communicates with staff and administrators to support operations.
- Near vision required.
- Normal hearing required.
- Manual dexterity required.
- Requires strength and stamina for lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, carrying.
- Cognizant of infection control; maintains safe environment.
- Competent in in‑patient assessment for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
