Job Description Summary
Job SummaryRecruiter / Advisor Early Access (EA) Specialist supports WV Northern Community College’s Early Access Program enrollment, acts as key contact for all high schools in the service area, facilitates Dual Enrollment / Early Access workflows, and provides admissions and onboarding support to prospective and newly admitted EA students each semester. Represents the college at on‑campus and off‑site locations such as high schools, community events, college fairs, and other recruitment, advising, and registration events.
Natureof Work
The role focuses on engaging high school students as the student recruiter and liaison between the college and local high schools. Provides campus tours, visits schools, attends community events and recruitment fairs, advises students on registration, academic policies, curricular options, success strategies, career counseling, and transfer pathways. Works primarily on the New Martinsville Campus but may work at Wheeling and Weirton Campuses as needed.
Responsibilitiesand Duties
- Serve as the primary advisor and external recruiter within the college’s service region to high schools and outreach entities (20%).
- Provide information to students and families about academics, major selection, career choices, admissions processes, course selection, payment options, and student life (10%).
- Coordinate and develop recruitment plans for the service area (10%).
- Maintain relationships with feeder/partner high schools, recruit students for Early Access, and manage admissions processes (10%).
- Visit high schools, vocational schools, area agencies, and outreach services for recruitment, admissions, and retention outreach (10%).
- Assist with on‑campus recruiting events, visits, and logistics (10%).
- Schedule meetings with Division Chairs, Program Directors, and full‑time faculty to gain program knowledge for outreach (10%).
- Administer all correspondence, follow‑up, registration, and logistics for high school college fairs and outreach visits (5%).
- Schedule recruiting events and arrange travel and program obligations (2.5%).
- Provide financial aid guidance using NOW, explain awards and scholarship information (2.5%).
- Assist students with logging into the student portal, NOW, email, and Brightspace upon acceptance (2.5%).
- Accumulate and maintain a contact list for all local schools and outreach contacts (2.5%).

- Education Level
:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (required). - Experience
: 1+ year recruitment or sales experience; 2+ years external higher education recruiting; 1+ year public speaking; 2+ years customer service (excluding retail cashier roles); 1+ year college admissions experience. - Knowledge,

: strong written and verbal communication; friendly, service‑oriented, outgoing personality; ability to present professionally and deliver effective presentations; customer service and interpersonal skills; excellent organizational skills and initiative; multitasking and handling multiple priorities; understanding of college information, policies, FERPA, and related laws; willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings. - Licenses and Certifications
