The Child Care Specialist for the Child Care Resource Center is responsible for accurately assessing, implementing, and updating a parent’s ongoing need for childcare based on eligibility requirements, and seeing that the provider enrollment process for childcare providers is complete.
Responsibilities- Assists clients with locating needed services.
- Completes FACTS intakes and update client cases as needed.
- Continually monitors and verifies clients need for care.
- Verifies accuracy of provider billings and audits child care clients as needed.
- Participates in fraud investigations, initial contacts to support allegations and ongoing contact with the Investigation Department when applicable.
- Provides referral lists and history of non- compliance reports to families when requested.
- Completes monthly reports reflecting the activity in current caseload.
- Acts as a liaison between clients and DHHR personnel.
- Works within time frames set by DHHR for new applications, RODCA, client reviews and billings.
- Collaborate with DHHR monitoring personnel.
- Offer technical assistance to staff, clients and providers when appropriate.
- Answers questions and provide training to child care providers on billing procedures.
- Provide program information to clients and providers.
- Records contacts with clients and providers in FACTS.
- Verifies client’s monthly income and work schedules with appropriate business or agency.
- Re-issues childcare certificates during status check or as often as needed based on clients need.
- Attends case management/Staff meetings as scheduled.
- Meets with Social Services and public agencies to foster awareness and develop a working relationship.
- Attends State Subsidy Case Manager Conferences when required.
- Assumes additional duties as directed by the Child Care Coordinator and/or Director of the Child Care Resource Center.
- Travel between the CCRC offices.
- Process provider billings through the FACTS system when necessary.
Provide supervisory responsibilities for the following individuals who are employed by the Child Care Resource Center.
- No supervisory responsibilities.

- Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field or early care and education or child development.
- For case management job descriptions that require a four-year degree in a human services or related field, the definition of related fields should include social work, sociology, psychology, counseling, interpersonal communications, elementary or special education, and behavioral science.
- Ability to work with persons from varied socio-economic backgrounds.
- Willingness to work with people of cultural, ethnic and racial diversity.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (peripheral vision and depth perception).
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
