Certified Veterinary Technician - Eye Care for Animals Wheeling

• $2500 Sign-on Bonus

Eye Care for Animals, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, is seeking a Full-time Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team in Wheeling, IL. Practice hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am–5 pm. No weekend hours. Some on-call will be required.

• The Veterinary Technician is responsible for a variety of tasks related to customer service and patient care within the veterinary practice.
• Animal handling, pre- and post-operative patient care.
• Creating and presenting financial options and estimates.
• Accurately entering service charges into the client processing database.
• Extensive client interaction and preparing medications.
• Hours typically vary and may include after-hours and/or on-call responsibilities.

• Previous veterinary technician experience required. CVT required.
• Proficient in IV catheter placement, blood work, and IV, IM and SQ injections.
• Proficient in monitoring anesthesia and working with various monitoring equipment.
• Team player.
• Eager to learn and self-motivated.
• Enjoys a challenging and fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task with a smile.

Our ideal candidate likes to work hard and strives to provide excellent customer service. Some on-call may be required. We offer competitive pay based on experience—$25-35/hr salaries are negotiable. Compensation is based on experience and skill set.
