Job Summary

At Richelieu Foods, we make Great Food from Great People. We are looking for a 1st Shift Material Handler:

Essential Functions

* Transport all needed supplies correctly and on time to the required line or pre-batch area.

* Communicate with internal customers to determine proper quantities and placement of items needed

* Responsible for complying with good manufacturing practices, maintaining proper sanitation and housekeeping in the area.

* Properly put away any warehouse picks

* Communicate and coordinate with other Material Handlers to ensure efficient operation of the department

* Inform proper departments or supervisors of any issues or concerns

* Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Handle and transport materials and equipment as needed (E.g., Forklift operation)

Understand and verify the quantity/weight calculations to keep track of material consumption.

Basic Qualifications

* High School Diploma or GED required.

* 2 Years of consistent and safe forklift operation on a stand-up forklift

* The ability to read and understand line schedules and material needs

* Positive attendance record

* Safe operation of stand-up fork truck

Desired Qualifications

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Competencies

Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.

Technical Capacity

* Ability to work cooperatively and maintain a professional working relationship with employees

* Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written required.

* Good organizational skills required

Physical Demands

Lift on up to shoulder Rarely 5 pounds

Lift up to waist Rarely 10 pounds

Lift on up to overhead Rarely 5 pounds

Carry on up to 25 feet Rarely 5 pounds

Carry upstairs Rarely 5 pounds

Universal Pay Verbiage:

The following information is provided in accordance with certain state and local laws. Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation for this role is between $19.00 to $22.00, plus 2nd shift differential. This role is also eligible for an overtime compensation. Benefits for this role include medical, dental, and vision insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, 401K with company match, short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance.
