Job Title: Production Supervisor – 3rd Shift
Schedule: 9:30 PM – 6:30 AM
Employment Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-perm, Exempt
Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all production activities on 3rd shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of manufacturing lines. This role provides hands-on leadership to production staff, drives adherence to safety and food quality standards, and ensures production goals are met. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, communication skills, and experience working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Supervise, direct, and support 3rd-shift production employees to meet daily production requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and food safety standards, including GMPs, HACCP, and company policies.
- Monitor production lines to ensure efficiency, product quality, and adherence to customer specifications.
- Conduct shift start-up meetings, assign workstations, and coordinate labor based on production needs.
- Troubleshoot production issues and collaborate with Maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Train, mentor, and coach employees to ensure strong team performance and consistent execution.
- Complete all shift documentation, including production reports, labor tracking, and quality checks.
- Maintain a clean and organized production area following 5S and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist with onboarding new hires and provide ongoing skills development for team members.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional departments, including Quality, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Management.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize productivity and reduce waste.
- Ensure smooth shift transitions through accurate reporting and communication with 1st and 2nd shift leadership.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing, bakery, or related production environment required.
- Strong understanding of GMPs, HACCP, food safety, and quality control processes.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced production setting.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address operational issues quickly.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Basic computer skills; experience with production reporting systems preferred.
- Willingness to work the full 3rd-shift schedule (9:30 PM–6:30 AM).
- Cold, refrigerated, or warm production areas depending on product line.
- Fast-paced food manufacturing environment with strict safety and quality expectations.
