Position: Quality Assurance Technician I/II (1st Shift)

Overview

Quality Assurance Technician. Job Classification:
Hourly.

Reports to:

Quality Assurance Supervisor. The Quality Technician performs routine daily tasks that ensure the products manufactured meet food safety, regulatory and quality requirements. Various tests are performed, and results are recorded and reported daily. This position offers a wide variety of interaction with all members of the plant team and exposure to the entire manufacturing process.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Inspections including Pre-Operational and Food Safety - document and communicate results.
  • Perform Daily Operating Inspections as needed to assure compliance with GMP’s and USDA requirements.
  • Perform Metal Detector Record Checks; inform Supervisor of deficiencies.
  • Calibrate Test equipment such as Scales, pH meter, Thermometers, Metal Detector, etc.
  • Perform pre-start-up and changeover verifications and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of QA activities.
  • Monitor HACCP Critical Control Point.
  • Perform Quality Audits as required.
  • Perform in-bound raw and packaging material checks to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Liaison with USDA.
  • Report and Follow-Up on Food Safety and Food Quality concerns.
  • Follows all Food Safety PPE/GMP requirements and reports any concerns in the plant.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Previous experience in food manufacturing environment is a plus.

Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and power industrial trucks. The employee is frequently exposed to cold, wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for the duration of the production shift; talk or hear; use hands or fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is infrequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 70 pounds.

Pay Verbiage

The following information is provided in accordance with certain state and local laws. Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation for this role is between $21.00 to $26.00. This role is also eligible for an overtime compensation. Benefits for this role include medical, dental, and vision insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, 401K with company match, short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance.
