The Role
The Demand Planner III will be responsible for managing forecasts and the demand planning activities within assigned market and Business Unit. This role will support the demand planning responsibilities for the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. Additionally, the Demand Planner will play a critical role in working cross-functionally with Vantedge Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Sales and Product Management teams to support our S&OP vision and mission.
Responsibilities- Prepare, present, and drive monthly forecasting process by working cross-functionally with key stakeholders to deliver an 18-24 month consensus forecast.
- Work cross-functionally to drive decision-making, new processes, collaboration, and visibility to the key commercial opportunities and risks in assigned market.
- Drive financial forecast reconciliation & align S&OP processes with business unit profitability and growth objectives.
- Create scenario plans to mitigate risk and conduct cost/benefit analyses.
- Drive monthly S&OP cycle; determine actions and follow up with key stakeholders.
- Coordinate new product launch forecasts with product management, supply chain, and engineering.
- Report on forecast accuracy metrics and other KPIs as needed.
- Make well-informed, effective, and timely decisions even when data is limited.
- Creation of finished good and component safety stock strategies to meet service level and inventory goals.
- Present in S&OP meetings or other forums to drive decisions related to supply/demand.
- Lead activities to ensure supply plan and schedule are aligned, in partnership with S&OP, and work to reconcile planning elements when disconnects arise.
- Maintain accurate master data and planning parameters to drive the correct supply/demand signals.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, operations management, or related field.
- 8+ years proven experience in demand and supply chain activities within a manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years' experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- 1-2 years’ experience in sales and operations planning.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to use data and standardize the use of data to drive improved decision making.
- APICS certification a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
