Goodwill Talent Bridge is partnering with an innovative manufacturing organization to hire a hands‑on Engineering Technician for a 3–6 month contract supporting New Product Development, testing, and prototyping.
This role focuses on mechanical assembly, test fixture build‑out, functional and reliability testing, data collection, and pilot build support in a manufacturing environment.
What You’ll DoIn this role, you will support engineering teams by building test setups, executing test plans, analyzing results, and providing hands‑on support for prototypes and pilot builds.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, instrument, and execute functional, reliability, and environmental tests according to defined test plans
- Build and iterate test fixtures and jigs (mechanical, pneumatic, and electro‑mechanical), including sensors and data acquisition components
- Capture accurate and repeatable test data (pressure, flow, temperature, mass, force, displacement) with full traceability
- Author clear, concise test reports including methods, results, plots/tables, and pass/fail conclusions
- Present test findings to engineers and project stakeholders
- Maintain test logs, maintenance records, and active issues logs
- Assemble, debug, and support prototypes; perform fit and finish checks
- Support pilot builds on the manufacturing line
- Conduct root cause investigations including tear‑downs and measurements, and assist with corrective actions
- Maintain a clean, organized lab environment following 5S principles
- Build and test Alpha and Beta machines
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree a plus)
- 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing, test lab, or new product development environment
- Strong mechanical skills including precision assembly, fasteners, pneumatics, tubing/fittings, and basic 3D printing
- Ability to work independently from a test plan, create fixtures, execute tests, and document results clearly
- Experience working with gauges and sensors (pressure, flow, temperature, weight/force, displacement)
- Comfort with data logging and basic data analysis
- Basic electrical and wiring experience (12–48 VDC), including soldering and crimping
- Familiarity with technical documentation and test procedure execution
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
- Basic computer skills for data entry, documentation, and equipment control
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
