Seasonal Laborer​/Snowplow Driver

We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Seasonal Laborer/Snowplow Driver within the DuPage County Division of Transportation. We currently have two (2) vacant positions open at this time that will support the 2025
-2026 Winter Snow season.  

This is a seasonal position and is not eligible for benefits.

This position will be temporary until March 31, 2026

Responsibilities include:

* Snowplowing and snow removal activities

* Washing County Vehicles

* Work zone flagging

* Labor duties for construction crews such as pothole patching, tree trimming, brush chipping, mailbox repair

* Additional duties as assigned

Requirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:

* High School Diploma or equivalent

* A valid Illinois Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A or B with Air Brake endorsement

The preferred candidate will have:

* Experience operating a six-wheel snowplow

A post offer drug screen is required.

A post-offer physical is required.

A pre-employment background check is required.

Heavy Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Use of arm and /or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than for medium work.

The work environment for this position frequently includes working near moving mechanical parts, in high or precarious places, in extreme outside weather conditions, with hazardous materials, with fumes or airborne particles, with the risk of electric shock, and in cramped or confined spaces.  Employees in this class are required to be on call for emergency situations and seasonal snow removal, which means being capable of working in excess of forty (40) hours per week.
