Responsibilities Include- Serves as the manager of the DuPage County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) by guiding the actions of the WIB in conjunction with the WIB Chair to maintain State and Federal compliance and program oversight, planning and staffing committee meetings, and representing the local WIB in State and National workforce development groups
- Engages Board members to participate in and utilize their expertise in Workforce Development programs and initiatives
- Initiate and lead special projects or initiatives aligned with the Workforce Investment Board (WIB) and the Workforce Development Division priorities
- Represents the Workforce Investment Board (WIB) to the general business community by maintaining a community presence and building relationships with DuPage County employers and other stakeholders
- Monitors programs for compliance with local, state and federal policies
- Educates and clarifies WIOA elements for the Workforce Investment Board (WIB) such as policies, performance, compliance, etc.
- Negotiates and monitors the Memorandum of Understandings between the Workforce Investment Board (WIB) and all mandated partners under the Workforce Investment Act
- Researches and explores grant opportunities
- Develops promotional materials to increase Workforce Investment Board (WIB) awareness within the business community
- Recruits and develops potential members from the business community
- Acts as a liaison with state Workforce Investment Board (WIB) and other local Workforce Investment Boards
- Builds a cooperative working relationship with administrator and staff of Workforce Development Division and all Workforce Investment Board partners
Requirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree
- Three (3) years of experience in workforce development or grant administration
- Possess and maintain in good standing, a valid Illinois driver’s license
- Have strong WIOA and/or Workforce Board experience
A pre-employment background check is required.
