Summary: Under the direction of the Chief School Business Official (CSBO), manages the day-to-day operations of custodial, grounds, and building maintenance activities within the District. Participates in developing, recommending, and implementing policies, procedures, and processes in support of building and grounds operations.

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Trades experience and/or licensure or Associates Degree preferred
• Experience working in a school district preferred
• Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, documents, web based systems, etc.)
• Fundamental building maintenance skills (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.)

12 Month Position

• Hires, supervises, and evaluates the custodial personnel of the district.
• Regularly and consistently inspect facilities and grounds to ensure District 10 standards are met and maintained.
• Monitor personnel for appropriate completion of duties and assignments.
• Monitor/operate HVAC equipment via Building Automation Systems.
• Coordinates the staffing of and supervises the snow removal process for the district.
• Oversees grounds maintenance, including lawn care, landscaping, parking lots, sidewalks, and exterior building areas.
• Assumes 24-hour responsibility for being available to attend to building emergencies.
• Implements and manages a comprehensive preventative maintenance and facilities improvement program.
• Coordinates and monitors projects performed by outside contractors.
• Develop annual priority lists and long-range plans for maintenance of buildings and grounds and develop the processes necessary to meet the identified priorities.
• Updates and maintains a list of the District's facilities and equipment, including life-cycle and replacement costs.
• Participates in the development, administration, and monitoring of grounds and building maintenance budget.
• Recommends operational efficiencies and cost-effective maintenance practices.
• Serves as the district's Asbestos Designated Person (ADP) and ensures compliance with the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), including required 6-month inspections and documentation.
• Oversees the district's pest management program, including coordination with licensed pest control providers, implementation of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices, and ensuring compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
• Coordinates annual Regional Office of Education (ROE) and Fire Marshal inspections.
• Coordinates required inspections for bleachers, playgrounds, fire alarms, emergency lighting, and other regulated systems.
• Ensures compliance with applicable local, state, and federal facilities-related regulations.
• Performs all other tasks as assigned and directed by the CSBO and/or Superintendent.

This is a full-time, twelve-month position. Salary and benefits will be determined based on qualifications and experience, in accordance with district policy.

Salary Range : $95,000 - $100,000
