We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as the Deputy Supervisor of Assessments for DuPage County. This position supports the Supervisor of Assessment’s Department by assisting in the administration of the Department and Board of Review.

Responsibilities- Recommends hires and promotions, directs, evaluates and appeals of employment decisions for all assigned positions
- Assists with the planning, supervision and coordination of the functions of the Supervisor of Assessments Department and Board of Review
- Supervises the work of assigned personnel
- Supports payroll activity for department personnel
- Assists with daily operations of the department including budget preparation and monitoring, committee and/or meeting attendance, and personnel issues
- Provides technical and administrative assistance to the Supervisor of Assessments, township assessors, and their staff
- Provides annual instructions to Township Assessors according to statute and correlates their efforts
- Assists in the statistical analysis of assessment data
- Acts as a liaison to township assessors, Board of Review, Illinois Department of Revenue and others
- Assists with making quasi-judicial interpretations of the Illinois Property Tax Code
- Acts as Supervisor of Assessments in the absence of the Supervisor of Assessments
- Consults with County’s legal officer in assisting with the preparation of presentations before courts and boards
- Confers with taxpayers, their attorneys and/or agents.
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
- Seven (7) years of experience in property appraisal or assessment
- Three (3) years of experience in a supervisory or administration capacity
- Hold an active Certified Illinois Assessing Officer (CIAO) designation
