Spiritual Wellness Advocate – Open Position
The Wheaton Franciscan Sisters are seeking to hire a Spiritual Wellness Advocate (Advocate) to support their aging in place model for their vowed Sisters. The Franciscan Community of Sisters has a total of 28 vowed Sisters with 12 retired Sisters residing in the Our Lady of Angels Mother house/Convent in Wheaton, Illinois. The position will support and assist all of the vowed Sisters and reports to the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO).
The Advocate is engaged in the care and support of the whole person for the Sisters of the Wheaton Franciscan community. The Advocate is a trained and experienced person who brings genuine compassion, understanding, and practical ongoing spiritual and emotional support to the sisters of the OLA community, families, and department associates by creating a safe space for individuals to explore their inner experiences and concerns in a home‑like atmosphere.
The Spiritual Wellness Advocate is an integral member of the Living Well (LW) interdisciplinary team (IDT), reporting to the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO), where holistic person‑centered care is offered to support aging with autonomy and dignity, and includes focus on physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual components. The key focus areas of the role include:
Spiritual Support, Living Well Interdisciplinary Team, Participation in Medical Care, During Illness and Near End‑of‑Life Care, and When a Sister Dies.
The pay within the salary range of $25 to $28 per hour will be based on many factors including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
