The Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, recommends products and services, and delivers high‑quality professional services that emphasize the guest’s total look. The Stylist supports the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM) by focusing on performance, people, and process to meet business goals and compliance standards.

• Perform hair services including hair design, haircuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing where applicable.
• Meet or exceed a $800 average weekly sales goal and productivity targets, supporting the store’s retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and shrink objectives.
• Apply business acumen by understanding drivers and identifying growth opportunities.
• Demonstrate products to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
• Support in‑store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay current on industry trends, products, services, ingredients, and benefits.
• Maintain punctual, regular attendance.

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and suitable recommendations.
• Demonstrate high customer service and salon image standards.
• Serve walk‑in guests efficiently.
• Partner with skin therapists and the retail team to deliver a comprehensive store experience.
• Build peer and brand partner relationships that foster collaborative guest service excellence.
• Share the Ulta Beauty loyalty program benefits with salon guests.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development.

• Know and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures and state board guidelines.
• Adhere to established service protocols for consistency.
• Utilize booking and clientele systems for return services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the EM.
• Maintain exceptional store operational standards across all areas.
• Observe the Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Protect company assets via loss prevention best practices.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license.

• Previous salon experience preferred.

• Proficiency in hair cutting, coloring, lightening, styling, texture, treatment, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Skillful use of equipment and chemicals needed for technical work.
• Ability to recommend and sell professional hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Capability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong customer relationship building and client portfolio development skills.

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Frequent mobility during shift.
• Continuous lifting or moving up to 10 lbs.
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting, and crouching.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Continuous or frequent coordination and manipulation of objects.
