Position Overview
Title: School Psychologist Part‑time (0.2 FTE)
Location: Glenbard East High School
Term: 10‑month, 2026‑2027
Start Date: 2026‑2027
Closing Date: 03/17/2026
Position Type: Licensed Staff, Student Support Services / Psychologist Interventionist
- Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement as a School Psychologist at the high school grade level
- Master’s in Social Psychology from an accredited program
- Knowledge and practices related to supporting all students’ needs
- English proficiency; bilingual preferred
- Valid Illinois Driver’s License
- Direct report to the Assistant Principal for Student Services and Principal (or designee) in the assigned high school
- Indirect report to the District Assistant Director for Student Services
- Deliver appropriate services (direct, indirect, and/or consultation) and supports to students related to identification of academic and/or social‑emotional needs
- Apply knowledge of laws and regulations (IDEA, ADA, Illinois Rules and Regulations, Illinois State Code)
- Actively participate in identifying student eligibility, needs, and appropriate accommodations and supports for IEP, 504 plans, and other individualized programs
- Collect and administer assessments as necessary to determine strengths, needs, and eligibility under IDEA or Section 504
- Monitor and analyze data and trends school‑wide to develop and implement student‑needs interventions
- Recommend and implement goals appropriate for individual students to support learning and success in school
- Participate in problem‑solving teams and child‑find teams as assigned by supervisor
- Continuously review research on social‑emotional and academic interventions to enhance resources for students
- Collaborate to recommend and implement interventions for students on individual, medium, or large group basis as part of a systemic approach to assessment and monitoring
- Communicate effectively with all staff to support academic and social‑emotional development for all students
- Develop and implement in‑service opportunities for classroom staff as needed to support student success
- Identify and communicate with community resources to support students, staff, and families as appropriate
- Seek and attend professional development opportunities to support ongoing growth
- Maintain the highest level of ethical and professional demeanor consistent with district policies (Sexual Harassment, Equal Educational Opportunity, Ethics, Use of Electronic Media)
- Demonstrate effective communication skills with supervisors, parents, students, peers, and other school‑related groups
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and district policy
- Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy
- Provide appropriate supervision and take precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Do not administer corporal punishment or touch students
- Perform other duties as assigned that are related to the job described
- Knowledge of practices that instill positive behaviors, assist with social‑emotional development, and build problem‑solving skills to create a climate conducive to learning
- Leadership skills to advocate for students and the school for further intervention needs
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as correspondence, surveys, and electronic media
- Ability to write professional communications
- Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from individuals and groups
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and community members
- Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
- Basic mathematical operations and concepts
- Problem‑solving skills for situations with limited standardization
- Maintenance of current job skills, especially in technology‑related activities
- Awareness of school district requirements and School Board policies in performing essential duties
