Community Consolidated School District 89 is seeking a full-time (1.00 FTE) Family and Consumer Sciences teacher for Glen Crest Middle School for the school year.
Job SummaryOur FACS teacher is responsible for creating lesson plans and instructing students on life skills such as nutrition, food preparation, financial literacy, sewing, child development and much more. The curriculum will blend hands‑on activities along with formal educational techniques to help prepare students for adulthood.
QualificationsOne must hold an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a valid FACS endorsement or Career and Technical Education (CTE) certificate.
Salary and BenefitsOur certified staff are placed on the teacher's salary schedule commensurate with experience and education, where a BA 1 for the year begins at $57,220.00. In addition to a competitive salary our certified staff enjoy 12 sick days and 4 personal days each year, Board paid dental for the individual and 90% Board paid HMO/PPO insurance for the employee, and 80% Board paid for Family.
