Job Description

The Undergraduate Psychology department in the School of Psychology, Counseling and Family Therapy at Wheaton College (IL) invites applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor position beginning July 1, 2026 (doctoral degree is required by start date). Area of specialty is open, and we seek candidates who can teach a variety of courses including Introduction to Psychology, other foundational courses in psychology, as well as upper-level courses in their area of expertise.

The teaching load is 12 credits a semester, which is equivalent to 3 courses per semester. Faculty are also expected to maintain an active research program and engage undergraduate students in their research, advise students, and participate in institutional service. Candidates should be committed to the liberal arts mission of the college and be able to combine academic excellence with their Christian faith.

Interested applicants should submit a CV and a letter of interest, which should articulate the applicant's qualifications with respect to teaching psychology and how the applicant understands the relationship between Christian faith and psychology. Application materials will be sent to promising applicants. Review of applications will begin on October 1, 2025 and will continue until the position is filled.

The budgeted salary range for the position is $63,000 - $69,000 for an Assistant Professor. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate, including equivalent years in rank, training, and field or discipline.
