Position Overview
Position: School Psychologist (Part-Time)
Location: Gower West Elementary
Start Date: August 18, 2026
Work Day/Week: Part time—0.5 FTE
Qualifications- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with School Psychologist Endorsement
- Master's Degree required. Successful completion of school Psychologist Internship.

- Strong computer and program application skills (Mac Environment, Google Apps) and operating knowledge of typical office equipment; e.g., telephone, copier, fax machine, e‑mail, etc.
- Demonstrated skills in collecting student data by conducting observations, screening, and evaluation to document current levels of performance.
- Experience in evaluation processes to determine the extent of student progress, continued eligibility, and special education needs (including functional behavior assessments, behavior intervention plans, etc.).
- Ability to lead and facilitate problem solving and intervention teams to assist in early intervention for learning and behavior problems.
- Knowledgeable in effective academic, social and behavioral interventions and strategies to support student success.
- Commitment to Equity:
Passionate about closing the achievement gap and ensuring that every child receives an excellent education. - Proficient in completing required documentation and data collection necessary for IEP reports and paperwork; lead domains, eligibility, and IEP meetings.
- Ability to provide behavior consultation to staff and parents.
- Work collaboratively with the school social worker to counsel students individually or in groups to enhance social/emotional growth and facilitate peer relationships.
- Actively contribute to maintaining a positive, inclusive, and safe school environment.
- Skilled in development and implementation of professional development activities as needed.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Responsible, honest, tactful, able to maintain confidentiality, and of good character.
Salary: According to Collective Bargaining Agreement with Gower Education Association.
