203 is a large, suburban school district with 22 schools and many opportunities to substitute each day. We have high expectations for students and for staff, including our substitute teachers. This position is only available for the school year and cannot be renewed.
- Daily Rate: $175

Maplebrook Elementary School
- Deliver lesson plans as instructed by the regular classroom teacher and/or school administrators.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students within the assigned classroom and appropriately respond to all emergency situations.
- Ensure protection of equipment, materials and facilities as appropriate.
- Communicate in a positive way with all students, staff, and others.
- Manage student behavior that supports a positive learning environment.
- Participate in building events such as fire drills, evacuations, assemblies, etc.
- Direct activities of a classroom assistant(s) as needed.
- Active state of Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Willingness to work 5 days per week at the assigned school

- Tasks require talking and hearing; often involve sitting, handling or feeling, manipulating a keyboard. Close vision is required.
- Standing approximately 30-35% of the time (up to 30 minutes), walking 30-35% (up to 15 minutes), sitting 30-40%. Teacher discretion may adjust when to sit, stand, and walk.
- May need to sit on the floor for assignments in the Early Childhood and K-2 setting.
- May need to navigate uneven surfaces for some assignments.
- May need to work outside at times.
- May need to work with materials such as paint, clay, glue, crayons, etc. for some assignments.
