Seasonal Equestrian Camp Counselor

The Seasonal Equestrian Camp Counselor position assists staff with the execution of equestrian summer camp programming and is responsible for providing a positive, healthy, and safe environment for camp participants, animals, and the public. The camp takes place at Danada Equestrian Center located in Wheaton, IL.

• Assist with facilitating games, arts and crafts, riding lessons, and other camp activities.
• Supervise and ensure the safety of campers during all camp activities.
• Assist with facility operations including upkeep of amenities and barn equipment.
• Instruct and enforce safety procedures related to horse handling, riding, and equipment.
• Foster a working environment that promotes safe work habits that supports a clean, organized and hazard-free camp environment.
• Deliver excellent customer service and support a positive, team-oriented workplace.

• 16 years of age or older at time of hire.
• Must have and maintain Illinois Mandated Reporter certification or obtain upon hire (training provided).
• Must have and maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification or obtain upon hire (training provided).
• Experience in riding and handling horses is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with youth of varying age ranges.
• A packed lunch, closed-toe shoes and jeans or riding breeches required.

• Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Expected start date is May 18, 2026 and lasts until camps end in mid
  - August 2026.
• $15-16 per hour.

• Based out of the Danada Equestrian Facility located in Wheaton, IL.
