Position Summary

Administrative Assistant to provide assistance for the In Year Summer School Principal in preparation for the program to be run June and July. This includes, but is not limited to, organizing files, preparing documents, managing spreadsheets, helping with registration, and other duties as assigned. The role is a temporary voucher position.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the In Year Summer School Principal with program preparation.
  • Organize files and maintain documentation.
  • Prepare and manage spreadsheets.
  • Help with student registration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Proficient typing skill (≥45 wpm) and experience with Word and Excel.
  • Ability to operate office equipment, perform basic data entry, and maintain records and scheduling.
  • Good written and oral communication skills and ability to interact constructively with others.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Read, analyze and interpret documents such as correspondence, surveys and electronic media.
  • Write professional communications.
  • Present information effectively and respond to questions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and community members.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in written form.
  • Perform basic mathematical operations.
  • Solve practical problems with limited standardization.
  • Maintain current job skills, especially in technology-related activities.
  • Perform essential duties with awareness of school district requirements and School Board policies.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Ability to sit, talk, and hear regularly.
  • Frequent standing, walking, operating duplicating machines and computer equipment; reaching with hands and arms; repetitive motions such as typing.
  • Close vision required; ability to adjust focus and withstand long-term use of VDT.
  • May lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Work environment moderate noise level.
  • Fast pace of work tasks.
  • Occasional travel to meetings, conferences, workshops and events at other sites.
