Accounting Associate

Join Cedarstone, a US-based business services organization that serves 200+ international and domestic nonprofits, primarily Christian organizations, by providing essential accounting and donation services.
Core Details- Salary: $19 - $21/hour, depending on experience.
- Job class:
Full-time, business hours Monday - Friday. - Location:
Hybrid: US-based, working from our headquarters in Wheaton, IL.
- Client Accounting Operations
- Process financial transactions (A/P, A/R, and Payroll) in an accurate and timely manner.
- Prepare and process client invoices, wire transfers, and expense reports.
- Research and solve client problems, providing clear explanations of reports and collaborating on solutions.
- Maintain client data and ensure all monthly tasks are tracked (e.g., using Canopy).
- Client & Staff Engagement
- Proactively communicate with clients, answering questions and providing timely follow-up on requests.
- Meet with client operations teams and internal client relationship teams to ensure commitments are met.
- Assist with client onboarding and provide backup coverage for teammates.
- Process Improvement & Documentation
- Document processes to ensure service continuity.
- Collaborate with other Associates to identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy.
- Experience & Education
- 1+ years of experience working in a business office environment.
- 2-year or 4-year degree that includes business training.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in accounts payable and payroll.
- Experience with Quick Books Online and Excel.
- Skills & Attributes
- Strong ethical standards and integrity.
- Excellent research and problem-solving skills—adept at "figuring out puzzles".
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills that cultivate client trust.
- Ability to multitask and work with several clients with differing requirements.
- Excellent time management, priority setting, and the ability to work independently.
