Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Essential Job Functions:

• Help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they get what they want and need.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness; review "sell by" dates and take appropriate action.
• Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained; keep temperature logs.
• Gain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions or make suggestions.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance and notify management of equipment issues.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer Service skills
• Effective communication skills
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
