Overview
We’re currently hiring for a Safety and Industrial Hygiene Professional and are open to considering candidates at either the Level I or Level II designation. The final classification will be based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and professional certifications. We welcome applicants with a range of backgrounds who are passionate about workplace safety and environmental health.
The Safety and Industrial Hygiene Professional II is responsible for implementing workplace health, safety, and environmental programs at the care site level.
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 – To help with your transition into our organization, we are pleased to offer a $10,000 sign-on bonus. Schedule: Day business hours with flexible start time (Onsite). Entry Rate: $38.55 – $59.49 per hour (Depending on experience). Benefits Eligible: Yes.
Essential Functions (II):
- The Safety & IH Professional II applies technical knowledge of workplace safety, industrial hygiene, hazardous waste, ergonomics, fire/life safety, laser safety, indoor air quality, ventilation controls, respiratory protection, bioaerosols, environmental infection control, noise, heat stress, fall protection, confined space, lockout/tagout, blood borne pathogen, laboratory safety, workplace violence, and regulatory compliance.
- Leads care site level committees such as the Environment of Care Committee, Safety Committee, Hazardous Materials Committee, and/or Fire Safety Committee. Develops and presents educational sessions on workplace safety and health.
- Analyzes accident and injury data and implements actionable injury control recommendations for care site leadership.
- Implements workplace safety, health, and environmental initiatives at the care site including leading complex accident and injury investigations.
- Serves as a regulatory liaison for OSHA, EPA, and accreditation bodies. Participates in the on-call system to provide immediate consultation and regulatory reporting related to serious injuries or environmental incidents.
- High level of independent decision making, expertise, and project management skill as demonstrated through experience and certification/credentials (GSP, ASP, CSP, CIH, and/or PMP).

Required Qualifications (II):
- Demonstrated experience managing workplace safety and industrial hygiene programs
- Demonstrated healthcare safety and industrial hygiene experience
- Professional certification or credentialing including GSP, ASP, CSP, CIH, and/or PMP
- Bachelors degree in safety, industrial hygiene, environmental health, engineering, or science preferred
- Three years of experience managing safety and industrial hygiene programs preferred
Physical Requirements (II):
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
- Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
- May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs, when the leader takes clinical shifts.
- For roles requiring driving:
Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
The Safety and Industrial Hygiene Professional I is also responsible for implementing workplace health, safety, and environmental programs at the care site level.
