Groundworker - Dorset, DTBQ

Position: Groundworker (Slab Layer)
Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Seasonal
Pay Rate: Up to £12.21 per hour (depending on age and experience)

A full UK driving license is required for this role.

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Groundworker to join our team, with a strong background in groundwork and slab laying. This role is ideal for someone confident in preparing ground, lifting and relaying slabs, and carrying out high-quality finishing work to maintain the park’s outdoor areas to a professional standard.

You will play a key role in ensuring our pathways, communal areas, and external spaces remain safe, level, and visually appealing for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and level ground for paving and slab installation.

- Lay, lift, and relay paving slabs to a high standard.

- Carry out repairs and maintenance to existing paved areas, walkways, and hard standings.

- Undertake general groundwork including excavation, sub-base preparation, and reinstatement works.

- Identify and rectify trip hazards and uneven surfaces to maintain a safe environment.

- Safely operate relevant tools and small plant equipment.

- Work collaboratively with the wider facilities team to deliver efficient and professional service across the park.

Requirements

- Proven experience in groundwork, specifically slab laying and ground preparation.

- Ability to lift and handle slabs and materials safely, this is a physically demanding role.

- Good understanding of levels, drainage, and sub-base preparation.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong awareness of health and safety regulations within a construction or groundwork environment.

- Full UK driving licence is essential
