Team Jobs are proud to be recruiting for a Finance Manager on behalf of a well established engineering business based in Weymouth. This is a key leadership role within the business, responsible for delivering accurate financial information, maintaining strong controls and supporting commercial decision making. This position will suit an experienced Finance professional who enjoys working closely with operational and commercial teams and who thrives in a hands on environment.
Role:Accounting and Compliance
- Full responsibility for maintaining accurate accounting books and records
- Preparation and submission of monthly management accounts in line with reporting deadlines
- Production of weekly reporting and key financial data analysis
- Preparation of month end supporting schedules and reports
- Daily and weekly cash flow forecasting and monitoring
Oversight and delivery of monthly and weekly payroll - Completion of balance sheet reconciliations in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with VAT, statutory reporting and other regulatory requirements
- Support the Director through the annual audit process and statutory accounts preparation
- Maintain and continuously improve internal controls and financial processes
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Provide financial insight and analysis to support commercial decision making
- Contribute to target setting and performance monitoring to drive business objectives
- Lead, support and develop the finance team, including Accounts Assistants
- Set and review objectives and KPIs to ensure high performance
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Document and maintain finance systems, procedures and policies
- Promote a professional, collaborative and supportive team culture
- Recognised accountancy qualification such as CIMA, ACCA or AAT Level 4 or 5
- Strong experience using Sage Accounts
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Experience producing management accounts and overseeing payroll
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Minimum three years' experience operating at a senior level within a Finance Manager role
- Experience with in manufacturing or engineering
- Sage Payroll experience
- Professional and commercially aware
- Results focused with a strong sense of accountability
- Confident communicator with strong relationship building skills
- Organised, methodical and quality driven
- Able to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
- Committed to continuous improvement and high standards of integrity
