Job Overview
Are you passionate about education and confident in delivering engaging, practical, and well-paced sessions to support Year 11 learners preparing for their GCSE exams? Prospero Teaching are currently seeking a variety of GCSE Tutors and subject specialists in the Weymouth area to provide tailored support to young people in the lead-up to their exams. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in students' lives.
Location:
Weymouth and surrounding areas
Subjects Needed:
Maths, English, Science (other subjects also welcome)
Hours:
Flexible - from 2 to 15 hours per week per learner
Start Date:
Immediate opportunities available. Tutors often work with multiple learners, allowing for part-time or full-time hours depending on your availability.
- Strong subject knowledge in GCSE Maths, English, or Science
- Experience working with young people in an educational setting
- Ability to tailor sessions to individual learner needs
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
We welcome applicants from a range of educational backgrounds, including:
- Qualified Teachers (QTS)
- Teaching Assistants
- Cover Supervisors
- Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs)
- Non-qualified teachers with relevant experience

As a Tutor, you will- Deliver high-quality, personalised tuition sessions to GCSE learners in Maths, English, Science, or other subjects.
- Plan and deliver engaging, practical, and well-paced lessons tailored to individual learning styles and academic needs.
- Support learners in building confidence, subject knowledge, and exam readiness.
- Uphold safeguarding standards and promote the welfare of young people at all times.

Various/flexible hours
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
- Experience of working with the GCSE curriculum
- Experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needs
- Hold right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide references upon request
- Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
